At any rate Yeti is sending out a couple new drain plugs. If everything else thats been suggested fails get a vortex drain plug from yeti and that will fix it. Odors can easily get trapped in hard to reach areas such as around the gasket and drain plug so be sure to thoroughly scrub those areas.
For tough stains and very foul odors we would recommend cleaning your YETI with a high pressure soap spray found at a local do-it yourself car wash. Leaks like a sieve. This plug leaks water everywhere.
The plug that came with the cooler works great there is some condensation but no leaking. This hose connection plug is a different story. When the cap is tightened down onto the plug you cannot unthread the cap from plug without unthreading the entire unit from the cooler itself.
