Over time it has progressed to the point now that it will not pick up at all. Its in neutreal but assoon as its in gear it will still idle perfect but when i go it will run good till about half throttle or till it revs up.

Now if I just use the cold start lever it revs right up. There is a little red lever under air silencer. If I move that lever to open emergency position it idles rough but will.

Its customary to do a compression test and spark test first. Since youll do both carbs assuming compression and spark check out the cylinder drop test is moot but the fuel tank inspection is always a good idea. When I try to run the boat full throttle it will bog right down after a few mintues of running.
I tach out at around 4200 rpm and about 12mph. If I keep the throttle backed off a little from full it will run fine but I would like to get as much speed as I can out of her. My owners manual says I can run this motor full at 5400 rpm max.

Ok so i got my first bike its an 01 yamaha yzf 600R. We got it really cheap cause it was layed down a couple times and had not been started in a couple months. Brought it home drained all the fuel out of the tank and each float bowl.
Got it to run finally. Replaced the plugs changed the oil. Mar 23 2014.
Ok i have a 1990 oil injected 90 yamaha cleaned all 3 carbs pilot and main pulled the pilot screws cleaned all that set them at 2 turns out checked the fuel pump all is good no leaks so runs good out of water idle too wot put it in water as soon as u put it in gear it just boggs cant even get it on plane any ideas 15 pitch. 01 yamaha wolverine 350 4x4 bogging down when more then half trottle. I idles fine and cranks with ease. On the hose I can run it up to full RPM but in the water under a load it will bog down. For while it would bog a little and then pick up an run normal.

What I was saying about choking the engine I meant if you choke the motor does the bog with the choke on while your riding. Its a test I wanted you to try if if doesnt bog while in gear with CHOKE on 9 out of 10 times for me its something humming up the fuel system. Check the Air Filter.
The most common reason why an engine bogs out under acceleration is because the airfuel mixture is dirty or inefficient. If the air filter is clogged or has a lot of dirt in it it could be bogging down the engine. Clean the air filter and see if the problem goes away.
I went to full throttle and trimmed the motor to plane the boat. As the engine started to bog down I noticed the motor went down by itself and I could not tilt the motor up. I pulled back on the throttle and the engine started to run smoothly no bogging down.
I tried to trim the motor and it worked I throttle again and the motor went down and. 2005 660 seems to be bogging out pretty bad when i floor it. Once it gets going it has no problems at all.
It only happens at low rpms when going slow and trying to keep a steady cruising speed. Seems to bogg out and doesnt sound like a steady piston firing. It sounds like the piston keeps.
