I saw a post from 2009 where the fella was asking about where the engine temp gauge is on a Kia Forte. For my last car this was perfectly half-way on the gauge with the needle sticking straight up but for my new car its about a 116 of the gauge below half.
For these engines an operating temperature of 230-250F is nothing to worry about in normal conditions. Just dont work the engine hard eg. Avoid full throttle and keep the RPM below 4000-4500 until the oilengine is warm 180F or above.
My car is a 98 ford my temp gauge goes about half way when I first start the car in the morning or after it has sat for many hours. Once there it will drop down and be maybe a little under that. So I guess my engine temp is where it should be.
