Remove all data cables from all devices and remove power cords especially and coaxial cables from cable tv or satellite as those cables will reset in a different fashion than just the power reset So once you have all power cords removed from everything and all data cables from everything you want to give the components at least 5 to 30 minutes to reset this lets any capacitors or eproms reset that. If lightning strikes the electricity cables that run into your home the bolt can surge through your electricity supply and overwhelm the electronics attached to it. As a result your electronic devices will likely be damaged and your television may not work properly following the surge.

Also since you have the Ohmmeter out check that the power cord from the TV is OK as well. With it disconnected from the wall outlet measure each conductor in the power cord from the TV to the plug to ensure continuity.
