In Lockport is a hot spot for summer meals. 15 Billion Dollars Generated Annually Through Events Along The Erie Canal May 19 2018 Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor just released a study which shows that an estimated 15 billion dollars is generated annually by events such as boat tours bicycle and paddle-sport rentals and historic site and museum tours along the Erie Champlain Oswego and Cayuga-Seneca Canals.

The western part of the Erie Canalway Trail is referred to as the Shoreline Trail and includes the Riverwalk along the Niagara River.
