Suzuki makes two different 300s one 20 and they make the larger 44L DF300B with the contra rotating gearcase in a 25 and 30. Yamaha does make a nice 300 built on their venerable 42 V6 platform but not in a 20. Why Yamaha doesnt make a 20 300 is beyond me.
When the engine runs at 4000rpm it will require 305 liters per hour. Compared to Yamaha Suzuki comes out very impressive at fuel consumption. If you run a Suzuki engine that is similar to the configuration of Yamaha it will only consume 189 liters per hour while running at 3000rpm.
Long story short I ordered my 230 with a 300 Zuke and have zero regrets. I saved thousands over the Yamaha and 3 more years of waranty. She runs strong and quiet.
Maintainence is straight forward and simple. When Yamaha 200 came out with the I4 I thought and still think that it would be the ideal outboard. Especially in a twin set up.

The consensus seems to be that when price and performance are taken into account the Kymco is the best buy followed by the Honda. As an Xmax 300 owner who has not tried the other two Im not able to argue against the reviewers decision however as a former Honda SH300 owner I am surprised the Forza which uses the same engine as the SH is deemed to be better than the Xmax.
