Probably just a cracked o-ring in the connector. Seems like I change them on my outboards every few years if I dont pay attention to getting non-ethanol gas. Just replace the connector and you should be good to go.
I have a 4hp Mercury 4 stroke outboard. I have gone through a few connectors that connect the fuel line to the motor. The prongbarbpinthingy on the motor seems to damage the o-ring.
It leaks when primingsqueezing bulb. Then is difficult to start. Must reprime and start frequently.
You can try just replacing the fuel line side and see what happens. But its going to be alot of back and forth if it still leaks. In the the shop we would just replace both.
The part number for the engine side is 22-816856Q3. The part number for the fuel line side is 22-13563T3. It should run you 25 to 30 bucks for the set.
I think that should do it. I have a 90 hp 2 stroke mecury that is leaking fuel and oil. Started first after engine was run then tilted forward for towing.
Would drip out of the bottom of cowling and into the rear of boat. Now it will drip when tilted forward without having been run. Been told it could be a bleed line check valve issue by Mercury.
