Engine recently just started running extremely poorly.
Mercury 115 four stroke problems. Mercury 115 Pro XS Four Stroke outboard motor features an exclusive range of innovatively advanced features to overcome the previous shortcoming of their 115 four-stroke outboard motor models. Besides some common outboard motor issues and minor technical errors Mercury 115 Pro XS outboard motor has no serious problem. 115 Mercury 4 stroke problems I have a 2010 115 Merc 4 stroke with similar issues.
The dealer is just starting to look into the issue. Has already told me once he could not find any issues but when I ran it a few hours later the problem came back. This has led me to do my own research.
I have come to find mercs suffer from several issues with the fsm fuel. 2008 115 HP Mercury EFI 4-stroke fuel problem. Engine recently just started running extremely poorly.
At one moment cruising along at 4500 to 5000 rpms the next moment hard to keep from dying then back to running just great. Could a low andor high pressure fuel filter fuel module fuel injectors or. 115 Mercury 4 stroke problems.
I have a 2011 Mercury 115 4 stroke that is leaking oil out of the air filter its coming from a breather hose off the motor. Also there is a port below the discharge of the cooling water thats leaking small amounts of oil. Oil level is perfect on the dipstick engine runs great with no loss of power.
At the very least if you have a Merc 4 stroke go check your air filter and make sure it is not degrading and going into your engine. It will fall apart if really bad. Early stage damage will just show the filter to be very tacky or gooey and ready to break down.
Brand New Mercury 115 Pro Xs 4 stoke problem. Just had a 2018 Mercury 115 Pro Xs CT installed on my Triton 176 VMag aluminum bass boat and right out of the gate it had issues. When I tried to get it over 5k rpms it started to bogsurge and slowly lose power until I back off to half throttle.
Also the more I run it it eventually gets to a point. I have a 2011 mercury 115 HP four stroke serial number 1B843908 Started with having problems with bogging down at speed. It would troll all day long but sometimes and only sometimes at increased speed it just does not want to go.
Where I have gone so far. 1 Had the old foam style air filter replaced with newer mesh style. 2011 Mercury 115 4 stroke went out several days ago boat planes good after 10-15 minutes at 3800 rpms 28 mph boat starts to bog down wont go more than 8 mph decreased rpms motor idled ok tried to increase rpms again still bogged down good flow from water discharge new impeller then motor quit restarted a couple of times now wont start replaced.
Posted 05-18-2012 0256 PM ET US Hi folks. The Mercury 115-HP FOURSTROKE EFI on my 190 Montauk started sputtering last year and my mechanic added an external fuel filter. This briefly fixed the problem but at the end of the season the boat was only able putter along at 5-nautical-miles-per-hour.
Mercury 115 4S problem. Had an issue yesterday with my Mercury 115 4s 2011. Got to the ramp started up fine powered off the trailer and parked it on the courtesy ramp.
Left it idling while I went and parked the trailer. We also had to wait for another family to arrive so for about 20 minutes the motor idled perfectly fine. I own a 2002 Merc 115 4 stroke.
Ran great last fall started and idled in my driveway great. Took it out last weekend after toping off the gas tank. Again started and idled great.
Took off and and ran great at WOT for about 2-300 yards and sputtered then for the remainder of the day sputtered off and on dropping rpms when doing so. 115 Mercury 4 stroke EFI problem. Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 15 of 15 Posts.

Zero problems with either. They are extremely quiet and very fuel efficient. When I got my first 4S I actually thought my fuel gauge wasnt working properly until I filled the tank because the needle had barely moved.
On some of the yamaha merc engines 115 four stroke they need a special insert in the prop. I would check your gear lube and also pull on the prop shaft and see how much play you have fore and aft and also side to side. Mercury 4 stroke fuel problems.
7 weeks of the boating season lost on a relatively new engine - you have a right to be pissed. Whether your next engine is a Honda or not you can still thank Yamaha and Honda for driving Mercury to build a better product. Thanks BobG for that informative TSB.
2014 Mercury Four Stroke Serious Hesitation at 3000 RPMS problem stops after anchor and return. I had this issue on a 2010 90hp 4 stroke EFI and it was the neutral safety switch. You can test this by removing the wiring harness.

Breeden Our problems will almost always be at 11 hours of running at about 3550 RPM. At that point we get a sudden reduction in power with some surging. My wife has on many occasions refused to get back on board due to the problem.

The rpm drops approx 200 to 400 rpm. This miss comes and goes. It appears to be an electrical the way it comes on very abruptly and returns to normal as quickly.
I had a Mercury 115 hp 4 stroke. Alarms would go off and not any dealer nor Mercury Australias mechanics could come up with a reason. However water pump charging loom flywheel removal computer sensor replacement ignition switch replacement fuel injector replacement over 6000 chasing an alarm that they had no idea what they were looking for.
Anyone Running a new Mercury 4 stroke 115 Command Thrust. Just putting the feelers out there to see if anyone has run a boat rigged with the new Mercury 115 command thrust and if so what did you think. Ive got a new boat on order that comes in a package with a pair of them and they look pretty impressive.
Is the Mercury 115 ELPT EFI 4-Stroke engine a good one. Anybody had problems with them. 04-21-2008 0201 PM 2.
