But In esteem power steering can be disabled by removing a belt. Its connected to the Compressor bearing of the car so if you remove the belt the power steering and air conditioning would stop working in the car and the car would like driving the normal steering. So I guess in that case no damage would be done.

It really depends on the car weather it is safe to drive without a pump. I had a 72 f150 with a bad high pressure hose that was very expensive and being in college was told it was safe to drive without the power steering assist. Yep you were right the pump has finally gone which makes driving near impossibleordered a new one from ford which was 100 cheaper than i could find on ebay but it still breaks my heart as im only 4 weeks out of warrenty. Also to know is what happens if you put motor oil in power steering. Engine oil will attack the rubber parts in the steering system eg seals and O rings.
After removing the hose from the pump oil will run out of the reservoirPut your hose 3 over the end of the pump return and place into container 1. Similarly is power steering fluid the same as engine oil. You should be fine it just not going to be fun to steer it when your not moving or moving slow.
